May 27, 2025 — Motorola Solutions agreed to acquire mission-critical mobile ad-hoc networking specialist Silvus Technologies for $4.4 billion, one of the security industry’s largest deals of the year.
What happened
Silvus develops software-defined mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) technology used for secure video, voice and data communications without fixed infrastructure. The deal, structured as roughly $4.38 billion in cash plus stock and up to $600 million in earnouts tied to 2027–2028 performance, closed on August 6, 2025.
