Anthropic has introduced a Claude Marketplace that brings plugins, connectors and agent products into a centralized catalog. The company says the launch includes more than 2,000 integrations spanning business applications, data services and developer workflows.
Discovery and deployment move into one catalog
The marketplace is intended to make integrations easier to find and deploy across Claude environments. Organizations can browse products that connect the assistant to external systems or extend it with task-specific capabilities. Centralized discovery may simplify adoption, but it also concentrates decisions about data access and delegated actions.
Each connector can introduce a different trust boundary. A useful integration may read documents, call external APIs or act on enterprise systems, so administrators need to understand requested permissions and how credentials are stored.
Connector governance becomes part of AI security
Security teams should establish an approval process, restrict installations to trusted publishers and review scopes before enabling a product. Logging should identify which user, agent and connector accessed a resource. Revocation and offboarding tests are also necessary because removing a user account does not always invalidate every delegated token.
Organizations adopting agent ecosystems can follow related controls in SectechMedia’s Emerging Technologies coverage. Marketplace scale improves choice, but the operational burden grows with every external integration.
