World Fire Congress 2026 Concludes in London, Names Dubai Host for 2028

The World Fire Congress 2026 concluded in London with delegates from more than 60 nations committing to deeper cross-border cooperation on fire and emergency-service preparedness, according to a PR Newswire release. The Congress established eight global “Communities of Practice,” coordinated by UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute, to coordinate standards and knowledge-sharing among fire services internationally.

Organizers confirmed Dubai will host the World Fire Congress in 2028.

Why it matters: The Communities of Practice structure gives fire services in different countries a standing mechanism to share incident data and emerging-risk research — from wildland-urban interface fires to lithium-ion battery incidents — rather than relying solely on periodic congresses to exchange lessons learned.
